About Meghan
I’m Meghan Gayter (she/her), a Licensed Independent Social Worker based in Ohio. I named my practice “Wallflower” because I believe growth happens quietly, subtly, and in your own time. My approach is intuitive and relational—I meet you where you are, and we go from there.
I work with people navigating anxiety, grief, identity questions, life transitions, or those who just feel… off. I’ll support you, challenge you when it’s helpful, and walk alongside you through whatever season you’re in. I use a mix of evidence-based approaches like CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based therapy—but at the heart of it all is a genuine relationship built on trust.
Outside the therapy office, you can usually find me in the kitchen, throwing some creative energy into a new recipe—or traveling, preferably somewhere off the beaten path.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio. I work with clients both virtually and in person. I have experience working with individual clients, providing therapy to families, and facilitating groups. I have done additional training in CBT, attachment style, trauma, ADHD and executive functioning skills, and mindfulness techniques. It is my goal to continue to grow in my practice and continuing education.

Working with Teenagers
Working with teenagers deserves its own section! When I started my own therapeutic journey as a teenager, it felt empowering to have my own space to show up and just be me. I didn't realize it at the time, but having those sessions would shape me into the therapist I am today.
Working with the teenage population requires patience, rapport and trust. Teenagers often don’t open up out of fear that they will get in trouble or create concern for their parents. It’s my goal to work together with teen clients and parents to create a working relationship to navigate difficult situations together with trust. I work to empower teenagers to feel confident talking to their parents when they feel ready. Teenagers often don’t have a trusted adult to navigate problems with in a judgement free and safe setting.
Some topics I work through with teenagers: LGBTQ+ and identity, peer conflict, family conflict, ADHD and executive functioning, social skills, peer on peer sexual assault and sex education.
